Inbound Links: some are counted, some are not.

If the "nofollow" tag is included in posts to a site, then the links from that site likely will not count against your Inbound Link count as far as search engines are concerned.

The "nofollow" tag... asks search engines not to follow the links on the page any further. I suspect also that they are not counted against your count of Inbound Links. Don't waste too much time creating posts to sites where you are hoping to get credit for the inbound link.

How do you know if an inbound link will not be counted?

Open an existing posting on the site in question. Click View Source (View/Source menu in Internet Explorer, or View/Page Source in Firefox). Search for the term "nofollow" in the source. If you find it close to where the poster placed his/her link, chances are the link coming from that site would not count.
