Basic SEO tips 2 of 8: Don't focus everything on what search engines look for

It seems like everywhere you read about what search engines look for, you read that it's all about keywords. True, keywords are very important, but relevant, engaging, well-written content is better for SEO effectiveness than keywords alone.

As the number of pages and volume of content on your blog grows, search engines (well, Google at least) pick up on the fact that the content reflects the keywords, even though you have not being using the exact same keywords all over your content. This is known as Latent Semantic Content and shows search engines that you also have lots of content in and near the keywords.

So, write for the audience. Yes, get the keywords set for the page you are writing on, but be sure to use the subject language to reinforce those keywords and let the search engines know you're not stuck for words.
